AJK has 90 ventilators to fight against COVID-19: DG Health

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir has 90 ventilators in its various hospitals to fight against COVID-19, said the Director General Health, Dr. Sardar Aftab Hussain here on Friday. He expressed this in his statement released from Muzaffarabad.
He said that the hospitals which have ventilators include AIMS Muzaffarabad with 10 beds, DHQ Kotli with 18 beds, DHQ Hospital Bhimber with 12 beds. ICU wards have been established by the support of NDMA at DHQ Hospital Jehlum Valley, DHQ Hospital Palandari, and DHQ Hospital Neelum. 50 beds isolation ward has been established in Muzaffarabad. This isolation ward is functioning 24 hours. Doctors and health staff are continuously providing their services at the front line against coronavirus pandemic, he added.
He said the print and electronic media played an important role in spreading awareness among masses regarding the pandemic. Resultantly, there was quite satisfactory situation in AJK. But when the masses of the state left following the SOPs since then the number of coronavirus affectees is continuously going up. People of the state should follow the SOPs devised to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic, he further said.
