Muzaffarabad: Raja Amjad Hussain Minhas has taken charge as the Director General of Information Department Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The newly appointed DG has extensive experience in media management. He has already performed responsibilities as the Deputy Director General in the Public Relations Office in Rawalpindi. He possesses special skills in media management, social media handling, and institutional branding.
Amjad Minhas holds an MSc in Mass Communication from Punjab University. He also completed the Media Management Course from the Institute of Management Sciences Kashmir. He was declared best officer during the course. In addition to this he also took part in various conferences, seminars and workshops on changing media trends.
On assumption of charge, a briefing was held at PID, in which officers and staff of the organization participated. During the meeting he was briefed about the functioning of the AJK Information Department.
Speaking at the ceremony, new DG Raja Amjad Hussain Minhas said that the department will continue its journey in the light of the directives of PM AJK.
He said that all officers and staff should gear up as the department needs to excel through hard work. The function of the Information Department is different from other departments as the job involves the provision of information and news here, so the organization remains on duty round the clock.
“In accordance with the instructions of Secretary Information AJK, we will further advance the department’s journey of progress. Our liaison with the journalist fraternity will remain strong. We will further enhance the development of the department.
He praised the outgoing Director General of Information, Raja Azhar Iqbal.
Officers of the Information Department have congratulated Raja Amjad Minhas on assuming the charge and expressed good wishes for his success.
