Mirpur: The 116th annual Urs of Hazrat Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, a renowned spiritual leader of Kashmir, concluded after two days of vibrant celebrations. The closing prayer ceremony, held at the shrine, witnessed the presence of esteemed speakers. Deputy Speaker of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz was the chief guest at the event.
During the event, Deputy Speaker of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz, emphasized the significant contributions of Hazrat Mian Muhammad Bakhsh to the subcontinent. He highlighted the spiritual leader’s writings, particularly the Sayf al-Muluk, and his explanations of the Quran Hakim in the local Punjabi language.
Riaz emphasized that these works played a crucial role in guiding people to follow the Quran and Sunnah, leading to the conversion of millions to Islam.
Director General Awqaf, Sardar Tariq Mehmood Rabbani, expressed the department’s commitment to providing facilities for pilgrims at the shrines of Awliya throughout Kashmir. Rabbani assured that efforts would be made to enhance and expand these facilities to accommodate the increasing number of visitors.
Mufti Zubair Ahmad Naqshbandi, addressing the gathering, commended the mystical words of Hazrat Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, stating that his renowned work, Sayf al-Muluk, is deeply rooted in the interpretation of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah . Naqshbandi praised the book for its comprehensive coverage of various topics, offering guidance on worldly and hereafter matters according to the teachings of Islam.
The annual Urs celebration serves as a significant occasion for devotees to seek blessings and guidance at the shrines of revered saints, including Hazrat Mian Muhammad Bakhsh and Hazrat Baba Pir Shah Ghazi, known as Damri Wali Sarkar. These sacred places continue to draw people from across the subcontinent, enabling them to fulfill their spiritual desires and find solace in their faith.
