At least 15 killed in Qila Saifullah road mishap

Authorities toll may increase, Levies called for rescue operation

QUETTA: At least 15 people were killed after a passenger bus fell into a ditch in the Akhtarzai Adwala area on the Quetta – Zhob National Highway in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah district.

Authorities feared that the casualties may increase

According to rescue workers, people were still trapped in the van, while the Balochistan Levies had been called for rescue operations.

The regional administration imposed an emergency in the hospitals of Qila Saifullah after the accident.

Earlier on Wednesday, at least three persons were killed and more than ten injured when a coaster heading from Gilgit to Rawalpindi plunged into a ravine near Matta Banda in the Upper Kohistan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

According to details, a coaster carrying passengers met with an unfortunate accident and as a result, three persons died on the spot while the condition of more than 10 injured people is said to be critical.

Rescue workers said the injured have been shifted to Abbottabad for immediate medical treatment.
