MUZAFFARABAD: Bail petition of culprits involved in violence on journalists case rejected here on other day. However, police have failed in arresting the accused even after 03 days of the rejection of petition. Journalists were beaten during the construction of the plaza of former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan.
According to detail, two journalists including Syed Taqi ul Hassan and Hamza Katal reached to cover the incident of land sliding at the site of the construction of plaza of former PM AJK, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan on night between March 01 and March 02, 2021. When they reached at the site they were attacked by Sheraz Gull, Aziz Gillani, Usman Haider, Asift Mustafai and others. They snatched the logo of the channel and broke their cell phones. When these journalists went to police station to lodge an FIR, police arrested them and put them behind the bars. Journalists got the orders for filing the case from justice of peace, but police delayed the matter for two weeks due to which the accused got the time to file a writ on the decision of justice of peace. However, High Court gave verdict in the favor of journalists after 15 months. Journalists community lauded the decision of the court.
