Bias increases anarchy

There are many questions that cohere in the mind of the young generation about the prevalent situation of the country. They are asking these questions repeatedly from their elders that Pakistan went through such crises in the past when the entire system was stuck.

The country faced this kind of state of affairs in the past but the whole system was not halted before. As a matter of fact, the young generation saw this type of situation for the first time in their lives. It feels that neither the country has any system at all nor the problems of the common man are being resolved.

The mess was created in April 2022, when an elected government was toppled down and PDM took power in the country. In the same year such astonishing unprecedented dramas were played on the political stage that the people were amazed to see what kind of jests were executed with democracy. It was on par with making fun of the country.

The political chaos was at the pinnacle, after PDM government took charge when the largest province of the country, Punjab experienced a cabinet, which was made for the shortest span of 24 hours

Actually this time, it was the politicians themselves who caused damage to democracy and PDM’s poor performance within their 16 months’ tenure made the democracy weaker and weaker. Somehow It completed its term in office and the affairs were handed over to the caretaker government but according to the constitution, it was responsible for holding the elections within three months but it failed to complete its basic task within the stipulated period of time.

The caretaker government in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been extended three times beyond their constitutional limit.

People have big hopes that after the general elections a strong government would come into power that could end the prevailing mayhem in the country, so that a derailed Pakistan may come on the right track and it may gain some financial stability.

The appalling episodes that happened in the tenure of caretaker government never took place in the history of the country in the past as all the resources were exploited to let down one political party. All the perimeters of ethics were crossed when the people in plain cloths, without proving their identity and without any search warrants, raided the houses of the leader of a peculiar party and physically mishandled the ladies and children present in the house at that time. The series of harassment is still going on.

The leaders of the party were even kidnapped by some unknown persons and they were forced to make an announcement publically to leave the party. Moreover, the election commission as well as some other institutions also played the role of puppet of the government, which made the credibility of next elections controversial.

Now one political party is given freehand while the other party is being prevented from participating in the elections by hook and crook. The aftershocks of the prejudice shown by the government are felt not only inside the country even outside the country.

The prime minister and his cabinet has also become so provocative that they should think about how they will face the public, especially the supporters of the affected political party for their unconstitutional measures, in this era of social media after the polls.
