Boring Summer Classes

In many countries summer vacations falls during the month of June and July. Many schools specially private sectors arrange special classes for students and give them the name of Summer Classes.
Instead of being focused and punctual alot of students label them as boring summer classes. In this article we will discuss different methods by which these boring summer classes can be converted into an interesting period of learning. One Brookings report indicates that over summer break, the average student’s achievement levels decline by roughly a month’s worth of regular school-year learning, with higher declines seen in math versus reading. That’s where summer classes can come in handy; by bridging the gap, students can be better prepared for the start of the fall term. Following are some tips for teachers to convert boring summer classes into a source of learning 1. Plan an interesting ice breaking activity for the students to encourage students. 2. Make lesson planning in more creative format. 3. Get to know student and treat every student according to the individual differences. 4. Instead to formal school uniform let the students come in colored dress to beat the heat wave of Summer. 5. Arrange a weekly interesting activity for Student Learning outcome Instead of traditional reading writing strategy there should be some interesting activities or outdoor activities for kids for their personality and character building .Here is the list of few interesting activities by which the students will be entertain and not label the classes as boring summer classes: 1- Coding for kids 2- Aeromodelling 3- Swimming Coding for kids Early elementary school is the optimum time for children to begin coding.During summer classes Strengthening cognitive skills through coding helps to plant seeds for eventual complex knowledge. We have confidence in the fact that the optimal age for children to begin learning to code is around the age of 6-7 Aside from job prospects, kids can learn important life skills through coding, such as:
• Problem solving •
Critical thinking Perseverance,
• Communication, and
• Creativity.
Aeromodelling Aeromodelling is an interesting involving design, development and flying of small air vehicles. It is a very exciting and interesting way to learn, apply and understand science and engineering principles.It is an activity which may taught to children in summer classes. A very experienced and qualified instructor teaches the children how to design model air crafts from scratch. Children also learn how to make the model air crafts fly. Aeromedelling could be: (i) Fighter aircraft models (ii) Transport aircraft models. (iii) Helicopter models. (iv) Gliders By aeromodelling, kids could learn:
• Technical lessons such as basic machine operation
• People skills like communication. •
Team work. Swimming Swimming is a water-based sport that takes place in a pool or in open water, such as a lake or river. swimming, in recreation and sports, the propulsion of the body through water by combined arm and leg motions and the natural flotation of the bodyStudies show that the best time for a child to start learning swim basics is between the ages of 1 and 4. However, infants aged 6 months to 3 years can participate in Parent and Child Lessons at the Y to start enjoying and getting acclimated to the water. The swimming aims to improve children’s basic swimming skills as techniques such as: • Water confidence
