ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab and Chairman Punjab Board of Investment, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that he does not take decision to take part in AJK’s politics and elections yet. He expressed this while addressing a delegation of Kashmiri journalists during lunch hosted by Editor State Views, Syed Khalid Gardezi in Islamabad on Thursday. It does not matter that either he would take part in the politics of AJK or not, he would continuously do efforts for bringing the positive changes in the state, he added.
He said that the option of giving representation to Azad Jammu and Kashmir in National Assembly and Senate without changing its special status should be considered. The current victory of PTI in the elections of Gilgit Baltistan shows that the masses of the country want to see PTI in government at center as well as in provinces. Gilgit Baltistan is being made provisional province to overcome the deprivations of the people, he added.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has given the best Chief Minister to Punjab. The work in all the fields including the investment sector is going on with full pace in Punjab. A number of new projects have been initiated, he further said.
He said that he has been advising the governments in AJK regarding the progress and development. His suggestions to various governments in AJK include the Express Way project in Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad, helicopter service for promoting tourism in AJK, establishing museum and a number of others, he added.
Chairman BOI Punjab said that the politicians of Azad Jammu and Kashmir never tried to take the people and leaders of GB in confidence. The federal government has decided to give provisional provincial status to GB on the demand of the people and leadership of GB. The organization of PTI in AJK is very weak. The party is badly divided in groups. These groupings should be ended. PTI will make government in AJK after the coming elections, he added.
He said that the natural environment of the state is being disturbed badly due to the incompetency of the incumbent government of PML-N in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Forests are shrinking and water resources are being polluted. Everyone loves to visit the hilly areas, but the basic infrastructure in AJK is badly neglected due to which no one prefers to go there, he added.
