Earth Day was celebrated across Azad Jammu and Kashmir with full zeal enthusiasm on April 28. Environmental Protection Agency, Zonal Office Mirpur and City School Mirpur organized a walk on eve of international Earth Day.
A sapling was also planted at the gate of Mirpur Stadium, after which plants were distributed in different markets of Mirpur city.
Deputy Director department of Environment Sardar Idris Mehmood from Environment Department, Principal of City School, representatives of press and children of City School Mirpur participated in the walk.
The event concluded with a pledge that all possible steps should be taken by the government and civil society to protect the earth. The purpose of the walk was to create awareness about the changes taking place on earth and the environment.
