G-20 should refuse to attend Srinagar conference : Latif

Muzaffarabad () The opposition leader in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhary Latif Akbar has said that the G-20 countries should not participate in any Indian drama till the impartial resolution of the Kashmir issue.

While talking to the media, he said that G-20 should be aware of the contentious status of Kashmir. Moreover, they should also know the fact that India, by holding a G-20 meeting at Srinagar, is trying to change the controversial position of Kashmir, for which Kashmiri people have grave concern.

It is pertinent to mention here that India has announced to hold the meeting of G-20’s working group on tourism at the capital of IIOJK Srinagar in May.
“Kashmiri nation considers the organization of an international moot in occupied Kashmir as the part of Indian conspiracy. The issue of Kashmir has been a resolvable issue for the last 76 years and it also exists on the UNO agenda”, he added.

The opposition leader AJK said that India is violating international law by holding a G-20 conference in the disputed land of Kashmir.

Chaudhary Latif said that keeping in view the sheer human rights violation and atrocities of Indian security forces against Kashmiri people, the member states of G-20 should refuse to attend the conference till India does not fulfil the promise to give the right of self-determination to Kashmiris.
