KASHMIR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir has asked the Modi-led Hindutva dictatorship in New Delhi to restore people’s rights and carry out commitments made to them on the floor of the Indian parliament in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“Mere remarks and big claims have not altered anything for the people, who were feeling mistreated and cheated under BJP Rule,” he stated while addressing party workers in the Nowgam neighbourhood of Shangus in Islamabad district.
He urged all present to join the Congress Party in its struggle against the divisive politics of the BJP-RSS and its allies, who have been tasked with dividing the populace in order to benefit it (the BJP) and deflect attention from the pressing issues.
Mir made reference to the current state of affairs in IIOJK when he said that although people felt duped and want change, the BJP—which has failed on all frontiers preoccupied with creating a false narrative to obscure the truth and conceal its failings.
The former president of the Congress in IIOJK reaffirmed the importance of restoring the democratic process for overall growth and prosperity as well as for instilling trust in the populace, who felt abandoned and taken advantage of by the BJP government.
