Gilani was a symbol of courage, steadfastness: Mushtaq Butt

Muzaffarabad: Mustaq Ahmed Butt, the Vice Chairman of Tehreek-e-Shabab-ul-Muslimeen, expressed his heartfelt respect for Baba-e-Hurriyat Syed Ali Shah Geelani on the occasion of his second martyrdom anniversary. He praised Geelani’s unwavering commitment to his stance, likening him to an immovable mountain in upholding his principles and never wavering in his ideology.

Mushtaq Ahmed Butt highlighted the monumental struggle and immense sacrifices of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the stalwart of the Kashmir Freedom Movement.
He stated, “Syed Ali Geelani was a symbol of courage and steadfastness against oppression and tyranny. He dedicated his life to the struggle for Kashmir’s freedom and tirelessly continued his pursuit, never straying from the path of freedom.”
Butt went on to portray Geelani as more than an individual; he was a theory, a philosophy, a movement, a preacher, an association, a revolution, and an unceasing endeavor.

Butt underscored that Syed Ali Geelani’s relentless efforts, fearless determination, and sacrifices have shaped a steadfast resolve among oppressed nations worldwide, whose freedoms have been suppressed by powerful nations. Geelani’s mission and principles remain alive and will continue to be remembered as a monumental leader of the past and present centuries.

He further said that Syed Ali Geelani consistently played a role in amplifying the Kashmir issue on international platforms with utmost vigor and fearlessness. Despite facing adversities and hardships for more than half his life on this journey, Geelani steadfastly withstood challenges and trials.
He hailed Geelani as a prominent contemporary freedom-loving guide, an embodiment of courage and determination, who etched an unparalleled chapter in history.

Butt affirmed that the Kashmiri people will forever remember the sacrifices of their leader and will carry forward his mission of achieving freedom until it’s realized. On this occasion, he called upon the global fraternity and international human rights organizations to stand against the ongoing Indian oppression in Kashmir, which encompasses brutality, killings, abductions, curfews, demographic changes, property seizures, and forced expulsions.
