Gold being sold for Rs116,000 per tola in Pakistan on January 6

KARACHI: A single tola of 24-karat gold in Pakistan is being sold for Rs116,000 on Wednesday, January 6, at the opening of the bullion market after the price of the precious metal increased by Rs400 during intra-day trading.

Likewise, 10 grams of 24k gold is being sold for Rs99,451 at the opening of trading.

Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22k gold was traded for Rs91.163 with one tola of 22k gold being traded at Rs106.332.

On Tuesday, gold rates in the local market increased from Rs400/tola to Rs116,000/tola, according to the data released by the All Sindh Saraf Jewellers Association.

Similarly, the 10 grams of gold price raised Rs343 to Rs99,451, it added. In the international market, bullion rates increased from $15 to $1,948/ounce.

Jewellers said the prices in the local market remained Rs3,000/tola lower, compared with the rates in the Dubai gold market. However, silver rates remained unchanged at Rs1,400/tola. The price of 10 grams of silver also stood the same at Rs1,200.27.
