Amid the ongoing financial crisis in the country, the gold price in Pakistan gained Rs550 per tola on Wednesday.
According to the All Sindh Saraf and Jewellers Association (ASSJA), the price of gold settled at Rs143,000 per tola. Meanwhile, the price of the yellow metal increased by Rs470 per 10 grams to settle at Rs122,600.
It cumulatively gained Rs2,950 or 2.12% per tola during the week that ended on June 11.
The precious commodity had scaled record highs in May and remained in the range in the run-up to last week’s federal budget announcement.
In the international market, the price of gold increased by $11 per ounce to close at $1,833.
Meanwhile, silver prices in the domestic market remained unchanged at Rs1,540 and Rs1,320.30 today.
