Gulfam Joseph, Pakistan’s best shooter, receives a direct invitation to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

KARACHI: After placing sixth in the ISSF World Shooting Championship in Cairo, Pakistan’s top shooter Gulfam Joseph has qualified directly for the Paris Olympics in 2024.
In the men’s 10m Air Pistol ranking round, the 22-year-old Joseph recorded a score of 198.4 after taking part in five sets. His sixth-place finish earned him the Olympic qualification spot.
His performance earlier in the qualification round at Cairo, where he finished third and secured a spot in the ranking round, included his best international 586 from 600 shots played across six series.

Gulfam Joseph has now qualified directly for the Olympics twice in a row. Joseph placed ninth at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 with a first-round score of 578. He came one shot short of moving on to the next round.

The National Rifle Association of Pakistan was delighted with Gulfam Joseph’s qualification and hoped that additional shooters would soon confirm their eligibility for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
