“He used to hit me with a frying pan”: Komal Rizvi spills her guts about ex-husband

Popular Pakistani actor and singer Komal Rizvi bravely opened up about the physical and emotional abuse she endured during her time in the relationship, painting a picture of the devastating impact domestic violence can have on a person’s life.

Recently, Komal Rizvi made an appearance on Nadir Ali’s podcast. There, she talked about how she was abused and manipulated in her marriage. She said that she was abused physically and mentally.

The Hawain actress stated that she got married in a semi-arranged marriage when she was just 21 years old, was unaware of her fundamental rights, and was not taught the boundaries that should never be crossed.

She stated, “The biggest mistake of society is that it does not teach a girl about that one line or limit that should never be crossed in any circumstance; I was not taught this.” I was taught to follow my husband and his parents, but I didn’t know that fighting for your basic rights was also important.

She also claimed that she was “trapped” in an abusive relationship for four years and that her ex-husband hit her with a frying pan when he thought she served him cold food.

She recalled a time when she called the Oman police for assistance and was told it was a domestic matter. As a result, the police left, leaving her husband to suffer.

Rizvi conveys a strong message to society and parents, urging them to teach their children to protect girls and show them more love and care.

She also emphasizes the significance of women asserting themselves and being aware of their rights.
