Holding G20 meeting in occupied Kashmir is violation o United Nations resolutions: Chaudhary Latif Akber

Muzaffarabad: Leader of the opposition, AJK legislative assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, has said that the holding of the G-20 Conference in the disputed region of occupied Kashmir is a violation of the United Nations resolutions.

While addressing a joint press conference with Members of Assembly, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal Bhudhani, Bazil Naqvi, leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party, Mubarak Haider, Shaukat Javed Mir, Syed Ali Naqvi, Arif Mughal, in the Central Press Club, Chaudhry Latif Akbar said that India has forcibly occupied Kashmir for the past 75 years and is resorting to brutal and unconstitutional measures to maintain this occupation.

He said that whether it was the August 5th action or the illegal action of January 05th and August 11th, all these actions are contrary to the United Nations resolutions. India is using all means to suppress the freedom of Kashmiris and their fundamental rights to self-determination.

India has intensified its oppression and barbarism in Occupied Kashmir. It has deployed nine lakh Indian forces in the small region, resulting in an increase in social and economic problems. The future and lives of the youth are at stake. Currently, the G-20 Conference is being held in Srinagar, which is condemnable in the disputed territory. He added.

We want to make it clear that the status of the state cannot be legally changed. Changing the legal status is essentially a negation of the United Nations resolutions. Today, along with the holding of the G-20 Conference, the people of Azad Kashmir, Kashmiris residing in Pakistan and around the world are protesting against Indian atrocities. We demand that the G-20 leaders do not participate in the conference. They have demanded that India withdraw its troops from Occupied Kashmir and grant the Kashmiris their fundamental and birthright of self-determination.

The speakers said that Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is playing a significant role in stopping this conference happening in IIOJK.

The speakers said that the Bhutto family has played a key role in highlighting the Kashmir issue. The presence of the current Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, makes it impossible to compromise on the freedom of Kashmir. Foreign Minister will also extend full support to Kashmiris, which will send a positive message worldwide.

They said that the political leadership of Azad Kashmir is united on the issue of Kashmir, and in response to a question, speakers condemned the arrest of Kashmiri youth prior to the G-20 Conference and called for further condemnation of actions such as empowering and arming the RSS, and demanded that the international community take note of it.
