Imran threatening establishment not PML-N: Maryam

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was threatening no political leader but establishment by saying he “will not spare Mir Jaffar and Mir Sadiq (traitors)”.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday, the PML-N leader said PTI’s long march on Islamabad was amid at pressuring the establishment.

While referring to Imran’s statement, Maryam said, “Who are Mir Jaffar and Mir Sadiq [traitors]? Certainly not Nawaz Sharif… but he [Imran] is referring to establishment and threatening them that he will not spare them”.

“Imran Khan is holding long march not against any political party but against establishment,” she maintained.

While holding the PTI chief responsible for the death of a police constable, Maryam said the incident has exposed the “ugly face and ill intentions” of the ousted premier.

“You [Imran] should ask your children to come and participate in long march… ask them to surrender their British passports,” she added.

The ruling party leader accused the PTI of stockpiling weapons, tear gas shells and batons to spread anarchy in the country under the guise of protest rally.

“You want to use the children of the nation to get killed and suffer hardships for your long march while your own children enjoying cool breeze in London,” she remarked.

“If this is freedom movement then bring your children here [in Pakistan].”

Defending the crackdown on PTI leaders, Maryam said the government cannot allow anyone to disrupt law and order of the country. “You [Imran] attacked PTV, parliament house and other sensitive buildings [during the 2014 sit-in].”

After being ousted from power, Maryam said Imran staged a drama of a “fake” threat letter and then made “false” claims of life threats.

During CNN interview, Maryam claimed that Imran did not even dare to touch on his allegations of foreign conspiracy claims.

“Hanging his head he only complained that Biden administration did not engage with my government.”

She also took exception to Imran’s statement regarding military, saying, “He said that neutrals are only animals and then asked army to stay neutral”.

“The government will not allow humiliation of institutions and it’s our responsibility to crush this fitna [conspirer],” she maintained.

He ran malicious campaign against judiciary and then started praising courts when it took notice of money laundering case against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, she added.

“Give decision in favour of the people and don’t come under any pressure,” Maryam asked courts.
