Karachi: Pakistan’s veteran batsman Shoaib Malik set a new record by becoming the first Asian and third overall to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket.
Former Indian batsman Suresh Raina and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin congratulated the 38-year-old on Twitter.

It must be noted that Malik became the first Pakistani batsman to achieve this feat. He joins the elite list which only includes Chris Gayle (13296) and Keiron Pollard (10370) of West Indies.
Malik reached the milestone during the National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi against Balochistan. He is representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the competition.
Malik has played 394 T20 matches from 2005-2020, scoring 10027 runs at an average of 37.41 and a strike rate of 125.71. He has scored 61 fifties, however, he is yet to register a hundred in this format.
