JKSDI Plans to observe Kashmir Martyrs’ Week and Self-Determination Week

In a recent ceremony held in honor of the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councilor Majid Khan, Raja Najabat Hussain, the founder chairman of JKSDMI (Jammu Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International), announced the upcoming observance of Kashmir Martyrs’ Week and Self-Determination Week. The organization, along with Member of Parliament Debbie Abraham from Oldham city and the Chairperson of All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir, will commence the Kashmir Martyrs’ Week on July 13th. The week-long event will culminate on July 19th at the House of Commons in London, symbolizing solidarity with the people of Kashmir and their aspirations for self-determination.

Furthermore, the Week of Right to Self-Determination programs will commence on August 5th in Manchester, spreading across various cities in the UK until August 15th. These events will include conferences focusing on women’s rights, professionals, and media, and will see the participation of Members of Parliament, Lord Mayors, Mayors, Councilors, and community leaders from diverse backgrounds. Birmingham, Bradford, Ashton, and Nelson are among the notable cities hosting these conferences.

Raja Najabat Hussain, while addressing the attendees of the event in Stoke-on-Trent, emphasized the significance of organizing such programs to draw international attention to the severe human rights violations in Kashmir and India. He voiced concern over the distortion of facts and misleading propaganda by those who seek to deceive the international community. The event also featured speeches from notable figures, including Majid Khan, the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Amjad Wazir OBE, Deputy Leader of Stoke-on-Trent Council, Chaudhary Karamat Ali, former Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Mohammad Riaz Butt, former Mayor of Luton, Councilor Zafar Bhatti, former Mayor of Chesham, Raja Akhtar Hussain, former Mayor of Peterborough, Muhammad Bashir Ratvi, Patron of Muslim Conference UK, Mumtaz Ahmed Butt, Secretary of All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference UK, Professor Imtiaz Hussain, President of Muslim Conference Luton, Shaukat Lal, Chief Executive of Sandwell Council, and former Councilors Mootal Butt and Maulana Altaf Hussain.

During the event, the speakers commended Raja Najabat Hussain for his relentless efforts in advocating for the Kashmir issue, which earned him the Star of Pakistan recognition. They also congratulated Councilor Majid Khan on his appointment as the Lord Mayor and acknowledged their contributions in raising awareness about the plight of Kashmir in Europe, America, the British Parliament, and human rights organizations. The speakers expressed solidarity with Muhammad Yasin Malik, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, who remains imprisoned in an Indian jail, and condemned his unjust treatment.
