Kashmiris demand implementation of UNSC resolutions

Muzaffarabad: 5th January was celebrated as the right of self-determination day by Kashmiris living all over the world, including Occupied and Azad Kashmir. A grand “Right to Self-Determination Rally” was organized in the capital under the aegis of Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the details, the participants of the Right Self-Determination Rally marched on the main highway from Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk to Gharipan Chowk and raised loud slogans in favor of the freedom of Kashmir.

Hundreds of citizens participated holding banners written demands for the right to self-determination & for the freedom of Kashmir.

People also waved black flags in protest for not getting the right to self-determination according to the UN resolutions besides chanted slogans of “Hai Haq Hamara Azadi”, “Bharat Se Lienge Azadi”, “Wake Up Wake Up UN Wake Up” and other similar slogans on Kashmir issue.

Speakers said that the United Nations should put pressure on the Indian government to implement the resolution of January 5, 1949 for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.

“The people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir are once again demanding the right to self-determination from the United Nations”, they maintained.

“India’s continuous escape from the UN resolutions is proving to be dangerous for the peace of South Asia”, they cautioned.

The speakers said that the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir reject the illegal actions of the Indian Lok Sabha on August 5, 2019 and the cruel actions of the Supreme Court of India on December 11, 2023.

“Apart from Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, 20 million people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are demanding a referendum from the United Nations”, they added.

The speakers reiterated that sooner or later the United Nations will have to give the right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people.

They said that India should remember that the people of Azad Kashmir will not leave the brothers of Occupied Kashmir to their present condition.

The speakers said that if India does not stop its state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir and do not ready to implement the resolutions of the United Nations, then four million people of Azad Kashmir will take the path of resistance for the freedom of the occupied part.

The speakers appealed to the United Nations Security Council, OIC, peace-loving countries around the world to play their role in preventing India from engaging in terrorism in Occupied Kashmir.

The rally was led by Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Minister Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi, Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Ahmed Janjua, Assistant Commissioner Syed Shabbir Gillani, Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Mohiuddin, Shaukat Javed Mir, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Usman Ali Hashim, Mehnaz Qureshi, Khalid Mehmood Zaidi, Abdul Samad Advocate, Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan, Raja Nasir Latif and other leaders of political and religious parties.
