King Khan, on Wednesday, announced his comeback film Pathaan which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles. In the said teaser, Khan plays Pathaan, an orphan who has considered his country his religion. Fans were ecstatic over Khan’s return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus.
The same day, the Dilwale star held a much-awaited #AskSRK session on Twitter – something he hasn’t done since his son Aryan Khan’s infamous drug case. “So much love for the announcement. Thank you, Yash Raj Films, Sid Anand, Aditya Chopra, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone for making me look good. And to thank you all. Let’s do #AskSRK for 10 minutes.” he shared on Twitter.
However, Khan’s responses are a testimony to how he will always stay the King of wit and has managed to rule the hearts of millions.
When a fan asked Khan, “Itne din hahan gaayab the (Where did you disappear for so many days)?” He replied, “Khyaalon mein (In my thoughts).”
A Twitter user also asked the actor, “Laal Singh Chaddha dekhi? (Did you watch Laal Singh Chaddha?),” referring to Aamir Khan’s upcoming film. Khan quipped in response, “Arre yaar Aamir kehta hai pehle Pathaan dikha (Aamir asks me to show him Pathaan first).”
Khan also replied to a fan who asked him how did he feel after announcing the film ‘after 5 years.’ “It didn’t feel new or strange. When you are in the hearts of people like you, you don’t miss you,” the actor responded.
A fan also asked, “How do you feel getting back to a film set after this long?” He replied, “I only love and breathe films. Set is where I belong. So it was like going back home.”
He also replied to a few fans who stood in front of his Mumbai home with a banner reading ‘Thank you for announcement Khan sahab’. The actor said, “If I knew you were coming home would have told you personally. Thank you for being there. My love to you. Keep the placard safely for the next few announcements.”
A user praised Khan for his poised stance on his son’s ‘scandal’. A fan wrote, “I have only three minutes left to ask my question but I don’t have one. All I want to say is thank you for your grace, your dignity and for the movies.” To this, King Khan responded, “Dignity, respect and kindness are the hallmarks of a life well-led. I try very hard.”
The award-winning actor surprised his fans by unveiling the first teaser and release date of the upcoming film, which is set to release next year. “I know it’s late. But remember the date. Pathaan time starts now. See you at the cinema on January 25, 2023. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Celebrate Pathaan with Yash Raj Films 50 years only at a big screen near you,” Khan had previously written on Twitter and Instagram. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan is touted as an action-thriller.
