KKvLQ: Players to watch out for in PSL 5 final

The final of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five is just a few hours away. Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars have some key players which can play a vital role in helping their side, lifting the trophy for the first time.

In sports, one can emerge as a hero on a given day from nowhere but on the basis of previous records, here are the top stars to watch out.

Karachi Kings

Batsman Babar Azam has dominated the batting chart since the start. He is the highest run-getter with 410 runs at an impressive average of 51.25. The 26-year-old is 100 runs ahead of Mohammad Hafeez, who is at the second.

With a strike-rate of 123.49, he has registered four fifties and has smashed 48 fours in this year’s edition.

England’s Alex Hales is key for Kings, who has been batting at a destructive average of 52. In only six innings, he has stroked 261 runs with a strike rate of 151.74.

The last match hero, Mohammad Amir is leading Kings’ bowling attack. He has 10 wickets in as many matches with a decent economy rate of 7.44.

Lahore Qalandars

Shaheen Shah Afridi, the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 17 wickets, has been spectacular for Qalandars. He is accompanied by Haris Rauf, who has the most T20 wickets (50) this year. All-rounder David Wiese and Dilbar Hussain with 12 wickets each are locked at the fourth spot.

Qalandars batting unit is in full form as Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, and Ben Dunk –placed second, third and fourth, respectively in the list of highest run-getter this season.

Hafeez has 310 runs at 44.28, while Fakhar Zaman has scored 298 runs at 27.09. Dunk, who has struck most sixes this edition (23), has scored 289 runs at a blistering strike rate of 175 and an average of over 41.
