Lone welcomes Pakistan’s resolution on Kashmir in General Assembly

ISLAMABAD: Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone welcomes Pakistan’s resolution on Kashmir in the General Assembly. In a statement issued here on Saturday, Lone said that the full acceptance of the resolution is the success of the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people.
The resolution termed the Indian move in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as illegal and against the principles of the United Nations. The resolution called the Indian actions after August 5, 2019, a serious violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter, fundamental human rights and international law. The resolution strongly opposes foreign military intervention, aggression, repression, discrimination, exploitation and illegal occupation.
Pakistan’s resolution on Kashmir in the UN Committee on Social and Human Rights won by 193 votes. The agreement was approved by the 193-member committee with the cooperation of 71 countries without any opposition. The resolution strongly opposes foreign military intervention, aggression, repression, discrimination, exploitation, insults and illegal occupation. The Secretary-General is also requested to report the resolution to the next session of the UN General Assembly.
