Medical experts give awareness about diseases to students

Senior medical experts have said that patients get almost 80 percent of the syndromes from their parents as inheritance whereas the remaining diseases are bacterial ,viral or allergies.

The last week of February is marked as the awareness week about the diseases globally . In this connection University of Engineering and Applied Sciences in collaboration with Islamia College Peshawar organized an awareness drive among the students regarding diseases at Saidu Sharif Medical College and different hospitals of Swat.

Dr Israr Ahmed and other senior doctors imparted the necessary knowledge about the syndromes which is transferred from generation to generation as inheritance.

In this regard special stalls were set up at Roshan Hospital and Luqman International Eye Hospital .People in large numbers visited these stalls where they were briefed about the different diseases.

Dr. Israr suggested that a department of bioengineering may be established at the University of Engineering and Applied Sciences to boost the research activities.
