Motion of no confidence against Speaker GB succeeds

Gilgit: The motion of no confidence against Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Syed Amjad Zaidi, has been approved with a significant majority.

According to the media, a motion of no confidence was presented against Speaker Amjad Zaidi in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. There were 22 members present in the Assembly. A total of 21 votes were cast in favor of the motion of no confidence against the Speaker, while only one vote was in favor of Amjad Ali Zaidi.

The government and its coalition members in the Assembly voted against the Speaker. Advocate Nazir Ahmed, with 21 votes, has been elected as the new Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.

Please note that as per the party agreement, Amjad Zaidi was supposed to resign after completing one and a half years, but the rejection of his resignation led to the motion of no confidence being brought forward.
