Rawalpindi: Riphah University would provide education to the children of journalists hailed from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In this connection a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the university and Kashmir Journalist Forum(KJF).
The signing ceremony was held here at university campus, where Director Mass Communication Department of the university Syed Rehan Hassan, Production Associate Media Sciences Riphah University Raja Asim Khazeen, President KJU, Raja Khawar Nawaz and Secretary Anjum Aqeel signed the MoU.
Under the MoU, the university would not only help KJF in the capacity building of its members by holding workshops and seminars on script writing, reporting, editing and the challenges faced by the media in modern times but also give admissions to them and their children in the media studies on 30 percent concession in tuition fee. This concession would be extended to 50 percent in case the father of the student expired.
The university would also arrange lectures for the members of KJF on the Kashmir research and image building in which the experts would apprise them about all aspects of the Kashmir issue.
On the occasion a documentary prepared by the production house of the university on Indian atrocities in illegally Indian held Jammu and Kashmir was also screened, which was appreciated by the journalists.
