Pakistan & Political Crisis

By: Fatima Sarwar

After 75 years of the creation of Pakistan, we read Pakistan’s history and were forced to think what was the purpose of creating Pakistan. Why we wanted freedom, why we broke the chains of slavery. This is a question mark in the current era. If we talk about politics, there are so many types of politics, some are Monarchical Politics, some are Western Democratic Politics, some are Military System Politics and some are Feudal Democracy. If we talk about Pakistan, two type of politics have been going on here for the past seventy years, one is Democratic and the other is Military. Both of them have been close to each other. Pakistanis have seen both Martial Law and Capitalist Democracy. But alas! Both the systems of government failed to run a free and peaceful Pakistan. Political tensions ate away at both these systems of government like termites. The country that was built in the name of Islam, where freedom from Western domination was a dream. The same country is once again seen sinking under Western domination. The need is that the political parties will be able to save this country by putting aside their political tensions and uniting in a systematic manner and holding tightly to the rope of Allah. Political tension refers to the country’s deteriorating discipline and internal instability. Which has been rooted in the roots of this great state built in the name of Islam for the last seventy five years. Together, we can overcome this inevitability, but taking the first step is difficult. A true mujahid of Quaid Azam will take this step and the rest will be a their caravan.

If seen, practical politics is done in three ways. Ideological, Interest and Conciliation politics. If a member’s ideology is political, then he will take the political ideology forward on the path of development of the society. That is, its aim will be to give a strong constitution to the state. At the same time, Reconciliation politics refers to a politics in which people are brought together in a friendly way through mutual understanding and harmony. This kind of politics is very common in our country. But each party wants to bring people together by presenting its own rules and humiliates other parties. In the same way, examples of understanding and reconciliation are found in the history of Pakistan. Two to three parties establish relations with each other and forget their political and ideological opposition. Thus, there is a hot-headed process to achieve the same goal. If you read the history of Pakistan, the process of conciliation politics has always been going on. Another kind of politics is Interest politics in which friendships and enmities are maintained keeping in mind one’s own interest. Or if it is said like this, then it would be correct that there is no enmity in politics, but there is a clash of interests. There is an excess of people who do politics by keeping their interests in front in Pakistan since forever. Now the need is how to avoid these political beasts. Politicians are elected by the people themselves. Therefore, first of all, the people have to be made aware that which politics is good, interest, conciliation or ideological. I believe that Ideological politics can play a key role in making a nation stable. Therefore, the people need to elect politicians who have an ideology that does not give priority to personal interests, but the development of the country and the nation is their first priority.
If we start from the past, the political situation of Pakistan is very bad. If, it is said that political tension started from Bhutto’s era, then it would be correct to say. Political tensions were high even before this, but it started especially during the period of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Bhutto’s politics was ideological politics, that is why Bhutto is called the first Ideological Politician in Pakistani politics. His style of politics was that he preferred Islam, people and socialism. His slogan was “Islam is our religion, democracy is our politics, socialism is our economy and the source of power is the people.” This was Bhutto’s theory and political tension started due to this theory.
Different groups were formed and this process continues till now.
Excess of political tension is due to Interest politics. That the foundation was laid by those whose seats in the assembly are ancestral and hereditary. If it is seen at this time in Pakistan, politics of interest is on the rise and politics of ideology has been eradicated. Due to this selfishness, along with the country’s economy, the peace and tranquility of the country has also been destroyed. This is the reason why political tensions are increasing day by day. But no one is emerging as Salahuddin Ayubi or Muhammad bin Qasim. Nor are there signs of the establishment of Justice’s Farooqi R.A. Political tension is increasing due to political interests and thus the forest law has been implemented in the country.

Political selfishness has not only sunk the raft of the people, but our country is also becoming weaker and weaker constitutionally. It is necessary to solve it as soon as possible. But thinking is how to stop this tension. The pity is not for these self-interested people, but the youth who are going to be the eyes of these self-interested people are crying tears of blood for them. It is important to rein in the youth as well as journalism. Because the independent media has forgotten that the new generation is growing up on the media. Social media is fueling the political tension. Prevention of all these is very important. Every journalist and every newsman has his own party and thus the poor people are seeing these self-interested politicians. Everyone is hungry and does not get tired of calling themselves Muslims.
