The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced hefty prize money for teenage cricketers participating in the National U19 One-Day Tournament starting from tomorrow.
The cricket board has set a prize bag of PKR 2million. The prize money will be distributed among the winning teams and top-performers.
The champion side will receive a prize purse of PKR 1million followed by runners-up who will purse PKR 500,000.
The player of the tournament, best batsman of the tournament, best bowler of the tournament and best wicketkeeper of the tournament will receive PKR 50,000 each. The best performer of every match will get PKR 10,000 whereas the top performer of the tournament’s finale on October 18 will be rewarded PKR 20,000.
The U19 One-Day Tournament will be played on a double-league basis across Lahore, Muridke and Sheikhupura. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will compete in the final on 2 November.
The teams are based in a local Lahore hotel in a bio-secure bubble. They have practiced at the National High-Performance Centre and the Gaddafi Stadium in the lead-up to the tournament.
The U19 One-Day Tournament will be followed by National U19 Three-Day Tournament, which commences on 5 November.
