The administration of Zhob district in Balochistan has confirmed that preparations are underway for an operation against militants following the attack on a military camp on Wednesday.
Commissioner of Zhob Division, Saeed Omrani, told the media that planning for a combing and search operation against militants is being carried out in the area after the attack that took place yesterday (Wednesday). However, he did not disclose the exact date, when the operation would be started.
HE said that as a result of the firing, two individuals were injured in Kakar Town, and a bus came under attack at another location, resulting in injuries to a woman and subsequent panic among the passengers.
On Wednesday during an operation against terrorists on a military camp in Zhob district, 12 soldiers lost their lives.
According to the initial report, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Wednesday morning, some terrorists attacked the Zhob region, resulting in the martyrdom of nine soldiers, while five attackers were killed in the retaliatory action.
In another incident, heavy exchange of fire took place between armed terrorists and security forces in Sui district, where three soldiers were martyred, while two attackers were also killed.
On the other hand, according to a statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Zhob, all public and private educational institutions, schools, colleges, universities, and centers of the NBP program will remain closed from 13th to 15th July.”
According to an official source by the ISPR, the operation to clear the Zhob district was successfully completed on Wednesday night. As per sources a hand grenade at the military camp in Zhob and then engaged in a firefighting for several hours.
The ISPR stated in its press release that the initial attempts of the terrorists to breach the installation were thwarted by the stationed troops, and they were subsequently contained in a small area.
The Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), a newly emerged terrorist group, claimed responsibility for the attack in Zhob and stated in a statement that they will release images and videos of their fighters who participated in the attack. The name of Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan came to light when the organization claimed responsibility for an attack on a police vehicle near Sehwan last March. Later, the same group also claimed responsibility for the attack on the Saif Ullah Chauhan Fort.
Though with the successful operations, Pak Army had restored the peace in Balochistan province, but as the time passed the miscreants have relocated there and for the last many months, the terrorists have been galvanizing in the various districts of Baluchistan, especially near to Afghan and Iran border areas.
It is the need of the hour that Pak Army should start operations once again to clean up the border belt of Balochistan from the terrorists. The para-military forces, police and district administration should maintain the continuity of the military operation, because the army alone cannot carry out operations for several months continuously in any area.
The terrorists should not be given a chance to reunite and challenge the writ of the government because the Pak army as well as the nation gave a lot of sacrifices for bringing peace in the country.
