Peshawar High Court Mingora Bench has restored the public representatives of local bodies by suspending Election Commission’s notification.
The Mayor of Swat Municipal Corporation Shahid Ali Khan moved the high court through his lawyer Aurangzeb Khan against the decision of Provincial Election Commission for termination of service of public representatives.
The applicant has also made the chairmen of the tehsil councils and other councilors party in his appeal.
On Tuesday the court had summoned the lawyer of the election commission.
The lawyer of the election commission, after the absence on two previous dates, appeared before the court and sought more time from the bench on the matter.
The court, while giving some more time to the election commission, fixed 7th March as the next date of hearing.
