PM AJK emphases quality education in universities

Muzaffarabad: The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has said that there is need to enhance the quality of education so that the graduates from our universities are aligned with the demands of the modern world and meet international standards.
He was talking to the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Dr. Khawaja Mukhtar Ahmad at his office here on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister said that Higher Education Commission’s assistance is required to standardize the performance of universities in Azad Kashmir Detailed discussions were conducted during the meeting, focusing on various issues related to public sector universities in Azad Kashmir and enhancing the quality of education.
Agreements were reached to establish Dudiyal Campus and Abbaspur Campus and further improve the Haveli Campus.
The Prime Minister praised Dr. Khawaja Muktadir Ahmad for serving as the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, which he considered an honor for Azad Kashmir.
He stressed the importance of promoting interactions between faculties and students of Pakistani and Azad Kashmiri universities so that they can learn from each other’s experiences.
He said that university campuses have been established throughout Azad Kashmir with the aim of providing students with quality higher education, and he requested full support from the Higher Education Commission for this purpose.

The Chairman of Higher Education expressed his full confidence in providing substantial cooperation and assured the Prime Minister that he would work to enhance the standard of universities in Azad Kashmir and provide ample support for the improvement of campuses in other regions.
On the occasion, ministers Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore and Chaudhry Azhar Sadique, former Advisor Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus Javed, Registrar Professor Dr. Khizar-ul-Haq, and Director Havelian Campus Professor Dr. Khawaja Farooq Ahmed were also present.
