The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq has reiterated his resolve not only to provide security to journalists but also give them access to the information.
In his message on the eve of Press Freedom Day, he said that the independence of the media is necessary for the continuity of democracy , economic development and prosperity of the country.
“Today we applaud the courage of those who tell the truth to the nation but never be frightened. I accept the role of free press in the society”, he added.
The PM AJK paid rich tributes to the journalists who even did not take care of their lives in the way of unearthing the truth and conveying it to the people.
He said that he would endeavor for the independent and impartial media to pass on the truth to the people as the information is real power.
