PM AJK urges implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir

Islamabad:  Prime Minister of the Azad Jammu and Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq, stated on January 4, 2024, that the United Nations has not fulfilled its promise to advocate for the self-determination of Kashmiris. He emphasized that the destiny of Kashmir lies with Pakistan, and through the right to self-determination, Kashmiris will attain their rightful place. The people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir stand firmly with the occupied Kashmiri population, providing moral, political, and diplomatic support.

Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq asserted that despite facing oppressive Indian rule, the people of Kashmir are resolute in their demand for self-determination. He warned India that if freedom is not granted to the Kashmiris, it will lead to further fragmentation. The citizens of Pakistan and the Kashmiri community are united in their struggle for freedom against inhumane and unlawful Indian dominance.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir highlighted that thousands of innocent Kashmiris, including women and children, have been martyred by the occupying Indian forces. However, Kashmiris are not willing to compromise on anything less than freedom. The Modi government has created an atmosphere of fear and repression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir through continuous illegal and unilateral actions. Political leaders in occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been imprisoned to suppress the political movement for freedom.

Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq called upon the United Nations and international organizations to free the Kashmiri leadership from Indian coercion. He urged the media and human rights organizations to work freely in occupied Kashmir. The Prime Minister presented tributes to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir.

He called for international organizations and human rights bodies to investigate the severe human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq stressed that the right to self-determination is a fundamental human right for the people of Kashmir. The Kashmiri stance on the issue is clear and unambiguous, demanding the internationally recognized right to self-determination.

The Prime Minister concluded by stating that self-determination is a fundamental part of human rights, and the global community should play a role in liberating Jammu and Kashmir from illegal Indian occupation. He reiterated that Kashmiris have rejected India’s unconstitutional seizure of their land since August 5, 2019, and they will continue their struggle until their right to self-determination is acknowledged. International solidarity, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations should reject India’s actions and support the Kashmiris in achieving their right to self-determination
