PM AJK visits KCCI: Discusses Investment, Development for AJK

The Prime Minister of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, while addressing the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that due to the non-directional policy of country on economy, the IMF decides that what should be prices of electricity, food, gas, fuel and drinks in Pakistan. The government of Pakistan had to change the laws on this and get the new budget approved by the assembly.

Inflation and unemployment in Pakistan are at all-time high. It is high time to find out how the country can be taken out of difficulties. We are ready to mediate between all political leaders of Pakistan.

Taxes in every sector, including industries, have increased tremendously, due to which the development of the country has come to a standstill. In order to activate and give the right direction to the economy, support and guidance should be taken from the Chambers of Commerce and Industries of other big cities including Karachi.

AJK government will work jointly with Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries for investment in various sectors including tourism, industries, IT, hydropower in Azad Kashmir and will give tax and electricity discount to the investors. Members of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries will be made ex-officio members in Bank of Azad Jammu Kashmir, Medical Colleges, Technical Boards so that these people can guide in the light of their experience.

A Kashmir desk is being established in the Karachi Chamber to guide and support investors from across Sindh, former minister Saleem Butt and senior leader Sardar Maqsood Zaman will be the focus person for investment matters on behalf of the government.

Karachi Chamber President Muhammad Tariq Yousuf, Senior Vice President Tawseef Ahmed, former President Muhammad Idris and other members gave PM AJK a warm welcome. Prime Minister Azad Kashmir was given a detailed briefing including business activities, working procedures of the Chamber. On this occasion, Finance and Inland Revenue Minister Abdul Majid Khan, Planning Minister Chaudhry Rashid, Tourism Minister Faheem Akhtar Rabbani and others were also present.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that if the civil governments work better for the people and the business community, the problems would be solved and the country would develop. The armed forces restored the peace of Karachi by sacrificing their lives, these forces are the guarantors of the security and safety of the country, the enemy forces in Pakistan spread propaganda against the forces, we are proud of our forces.

On the occasion Minister of Finance and Inland Revenue Abdul Majid Khan said that a joint plan is being prepared for investment in Azad Kashmir and in this regard, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, is going to hold a two-day conference, and will take suggestions from experts.

While taking guidance from the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the plan will be finalized and led to legislation to provide complete protection to investors. Majid Khan said that the Bank of Azad Jammu Kashmir has now entered the stages of regularization with the State Bank due to the serious efforts of the government. By regularizing this bank, the morale and confidence of all investors will increase.
