The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office stated at a press conference on Tuesday that Jeremy Renner’s severe injuries were brought on by a “tragic accident.”
The two-time Oscar nominee actor was injured in a snow-plowing accident on Sunday close to his Reno home, according to more information from the police.
A Nevada hospital performed two procedures on the 51-year-old Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol actor after his family reported that he “suffered traumatic chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.”
“We do not believe Mr. Renner was at all impaired,” Sheriff Darin Balaam said. “We feel this is an unfortunate accident.”
The police spokesperson blamed “extreme winter weather” in the region and claimed there was no “foul play,” revealing the Marvel star tried to use his Snow-Cat to clear snow off a car near his Mount Rose property, which is roughly 25 miles outside of Reno.
Sheriff Darin stated, “According to the investigation, Mr. Renner is struck by the PistonBully at this point.”
From his hospital bed, Renner also posted a selfie with the comment, “Thank you all for your warm sentiments. I’m currently too confused to type. But I send you all my love.
