ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi affirmed that there were good prospects to boost bilateral relations with Syria in different fields, said a statement released by President Secretariat, here Friday.
According to the statement, President Alvi expressed these hopes during a ceremony to accept the credentials of Mr. Ramez Al-Rae as Syria’s Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Pakistan.
Mr. Alvi extended heartfelt best wishes to President Bashar al-Assad, hoping that security, peace and stability would prevail in Syria.
President Alawi was confident that the appointment of Syria an accredited ambassador to Pakistan will push the bilateral relations forward between the two countries and the two friendly peoples, stressing that the bilateral relations are based on mutual respect and that there are good prospects for enhancing them in various fields.
In turn, Ambassador Rae conveyed the greetings of President Al-Assad to President Alvi and the friendly Pakistani people, wishing the Republic of Pakistan more security, peace, development and prosperity.
