President AJK urges elected reps to work for resolving people’s problems

Islamabad: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that after the local government elections in Azad Kashmir, the authority has been devolved to the grassroots level.
He was talking to Mayor Mirpur, Chaudhry Usman Khalid, who called on him at Kashmir House here.
The President of AJK said that it is now the responsibility of the elected representatives of local bodies to play their role in resolving the issues, of the people. He said that the government would provide all possible assistance for this purpose.
He said that he will ask the Azad Kashmir government to expedite the allocation of funds for Rathoa Hariam Bridge so that the work on the project can be completed as soon as possible.
Barrister Sultan emphasized that municipal representatives should utilize all their energies for the resolution of small and large issues of the people and make public service their motto.
On this occasion, Mayor Mirpur Chaudhry Usman Khalid briefed President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry about ongoing development projects in Mirpur and the challenges faced in this regard.
