Khawar Nawaz Raja elected president KJF
ISLAMABAD: Progressive panel won elections of Kashmir Journalists Forum (KJF) for 6th time consecutively here on Sunday. According to the results announced by the Chairman Election Commission, Sardar Zahid Tabassum, Khawar Nawaz Raja of progressive panel elected president and Aquil Anjum secretary by getting votes 123 and 114 respectively. United Journalists Panel’s candidate for President Latif Dar managed to get 102 votes and candidate for secretary Nadeem Siddique got 107 votes. Besides them, those who have won the elections include, Majid Afsar, Zaheer Mughal, Abid Hashmi, Ijaz Khan, Iqbal Awan, Adeel Bashir, and Talha Javed. Progressive panel got 07 out of total 09 seats of executive body. On the other hand progressive and united journalists panels succeeded in getting 04 seats each from total 08 seats of Governing body. Those who succeeded on Governing body seats include GN Kashmiri, Raja Usman Tahir, Aamir Iqbal Hashmi, Sardar Nisar Tabasum, Ishaq Hashmi, Raja Khalid, Sardar Nadeem, and Naveed Chaudhry.
President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry; Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan; DG Information Raja Azhar Iqbal; Former Information Minister, Raja Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas; Former PM AJK, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and others congratulated the newly elected body of KJF.
