Protest in Muzaffarabad against Indian PM visit to IIOJK

Muzaffarabad: A protest was held under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

According to details, large number of people gathered at Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk and chanted Anti India and pro freedom slogans.

Speaking on the occasion, people said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are already suffering worst atrocities and deception by Indian rulers and its forces.

They said that the proposed visit of Narendra Modi is not a development for Jammu and Kashmir but may prove to be a prelude of another trial and punishment.

Speakers said that since 2015, the usurping government of Bharatiya Janata Party has committed the worst war crimes on civilians in IIOJ&K.

“The BJP led government arrested 43000 citizens in 9 years to crush the people’s revolutionary movement in Jammu and Kashmir”, they opined.

“The government of BJP martyred more than 2500 Kashmiri citizens and injured more than thirty thousand citizens”, they lamented.

Speakers said that after the martyrdom of the well-known freedom fighter Burhan Wani on July 8, 2016, attempts were made by Narendra Modi’s regime to suppress the voice of the Kashmiri people by imposing the longest curfew in history in Kashmir.

They further said that after the martyrdom of young Wani, hundreds of Kashmiri youths, including doctors, professors and highly educated youths were killed in fake military clashes by Modi government.

The Modi government used the attacks on Kashmiri women as a weapon of war to stop the people’s struggle and blinded thousands of Kashmiri boys and girls with deadly pellet gun attacks.

They said that the Indian government completely ignored the UN resolutions and against the will of the Kashmiri people, on August 5, 2019, the Indian government took the worst and cruelest steps to change the Muslim majority of the state into minority.

“Modi government arrested thousands of citizens, including Hurriyat leaders, activists, businessmen, lawyers, leaders of political and religious parties, journalists, human rights activists, and women including members of civil society to avoid public backlash”, they added.

Speakers further said that the Indian rulers have completely failed to destroy the freedom spirit of the Kashmiri people despite the coercive tyranny.

“On December 11, 2023, the Indian court verdict against will of the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir has further jeopardise the peaceful situation in South Asia”, they said.

They said that India should know that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue their resistance against military occupation until they get liberation.

Protestors demanded the international organisations to take action on the current situation in IIOJ&K.
