Raja Saeed Akram Should not be appointed CJ AJK

ISLAMABAD: Raja Saeed Akram should not be appointed as the Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court, said the President Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Vice Chairman Kashmir Council, Sardar Masood Khan in his letter to Prime Minister Pakistan and Chairman Kashmir Council, Imran Khan here on Friday.
According to detail, the President AJK Sardar Masood Khan wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Imran Khan in which he leveled various allegations against the Acting Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court, Raja Saeed Akram. The President maintained in the letter that he has miss conduct reference against Justice Raja Saeed Akram. The reference could not be filed as the Supreme Judicial Council is incomplete. Reference will be filed just after the completion of Supreme Judicial Council. Kashmir Council is already having two references against the Acting Chief Justice. Under such circumstances, the Raja Saeed Akram cannot be appointed as the Chief Justice, he added.
The President has requested the Prime Minister Imran Khan to appoint Acting Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Azhar Saleem Babar as the Chief Justice AJK Supreme Court.
Prior to this, the President AJK Sardar Masood Khan wrote a letter, four months ago, in which he supported the appointment of Raja Saeed Akram as the Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court. He also hailed the services of Raja Saeed Akram at that time. But, due to some reasons the President AJK Sardar Masood Khan and Prime Minister AJK, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan are currently opposing Raja Saeed Akram.
