The Saudi Arabian government has deposited two billion dollars with the State Bank of Pakistan. The finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced this in a video message that due to the deposit from KSA, the foreign exchange reserves of the country have increased.
In this tweet message the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also thanked the Saudi government for realizing its promise made a few months ago. The PM also asked how long the country would borrow foreign loans.
But in this regard it is very interesting that the PM asked the question either from the nation, from his cabinet, from alliance in power or from himself.
On one hand the government is badly tantalizing for the loan from IMF, which gave it in a so much humiliating manner after tormenting the government for at least six months and on the other hand the size of the federal cabinet was the largest in history. If the tranche of 1.2 billion dollars was not received the country would have been faced with a default like situation and the total numbers of federal minister, state ministers, advisors, special assistant to PM and parliamentary secretaries touched the nearly 100.
Unluckily for each and every government that comes to power, the members of the cabinet always think that the national exchequer is only for them and they have the legal right to utilize full resources for gaining personal benefits not only for themselves but also for their friends, family members and a few of their party workers. They use the national resources so blindly as if it was their personal property.
The PDM led government is burning the candle from both ends. Some six months ago the government had purchased some 75 new model luxury vehicles for the members of the cabinet. Then on the hubbub from the government officers, in the second phase government again purchased about 50 1300 cc cars for the senior bureaucracy just to shut their mouth with lollipops.
During the incumbent government, more than 15 persons including heads of all the political parties are enjoying the protocol of President of the country. The PM Shahbaz Sharif made tall claims that the government would adopt the austerity measures but he, as the head of the government, has put the doldrums to his own hollow claims.
According to a report of an international financial magazine , published last month that Pakistan is incurring the hefty amount of 3.5 billion dollars per annum on giving facilities to elite class of the society who even do not pay taxes , due to the reason that they think themselves above the law instead of using it on the public. If this amount would have been used in a proper manner , the poverty could have been alleviated, from the country.
It is very disgraceful that PM Shahbaz Sharif who is squandering the national resources with both hands is asking how long the country would lend the money from others.
This is the answer of the PM’s question that the nation wants to reply PM , that Pakistan would take the loans until and unless the rulers would not think about the country and its people in a befitting manner .
