Rural Abbottabad subjected to unscheduled load shedding.

The residents of rural areas of Abbottabad have been facing unannounced load shedding from the last couple of days.

While talking to Daily Country News, the residents of the area asserted that they had been subjected to 12 hours load shedding on daily basis. They expressed serious concern over the prolonged outage of the power and threatened to start protest, demonstration outside the WAPDA house if load shedding is not reduced with in a week.

Local people of the area while approaching to this correspondent said that peoples faced a lot of troublesome due to unannounced power outages. Though, scheduled plan of load shedding for the area is 2 hours but residents of the area facing more than 10 to 12 hours power outages. They said, number of complaints have been lodged to the concerning officials but no such a measure was initiated to restore the power supply.

Thousands of consumers are facing hardship due to the force load shedding. The loadshedding was conducted according to a schedule as per which people would plan their days but over last few days, there seems to be no schedule for load shedding.”All our plans for the day are disturbed because of unannounced load shedding”.

They said that the consumers in their localities were regularly paying bills, but even then they were subjected to prolonged power outages. “The students were also unable to study because of load shedding,”. They added.

They said that the people had been left with only option to besiege the WAPDA house in protest. They said if the corrective measures was not adopted the people would face serious problems due to prolonged power outages.

“We would like to request the Minister for Water and Power to issue the directives for the restoration of the power to the respecting area and also take action against the concerned officials for the negligence,’. They asked.
