SAIO honors Dr.  Zubairi for promoting Arabic language in Pakistan

Islamabad:  Dr. Samiullah Zubairi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Allama Iqbal Open University, has been awarded the prestigious Abdullah bin Masood Award by a prominent Islamic organization in South Africa for his outstanding contributions to the promotion of the Arabic language in Pakistan. Various religious and political groups have hailed his efforts, emphasizing that the promotion of Arabic language education can help eliminate sectarianism in society. Arabic language is gaining increased importance and popularity worldwide, and Dr. Samiullah Zubairi is recognized as one of its finest proponents.

 

During the reception organized in his honor, Dr. Samiullah Zubairi expressed his dual passions for Arabic language and education. He received the award from the South African organization as a testament to his commitment to Pakistan and its religious communities. He stated that Arabic is the language of the Quran and Sunnah, and its teaching is fundamental for every Muslim. He stressed that promoting Arabic language education not only eliminates sectarianism but also presents the true essence of Islam to the world.

 

Addressing the gathering, Qazi Abdul Qadir Khamosh, Chairman of the Council of Scholars of Ahl-e-Hadith, commended Dr. Samiullah Zubairi’s remarkable services in promoting the Arabic language. He described him as one of the best advocates for Arabic language education, offering warm congratulations on his award. Khamosh highlighted the constitutional mandate from the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan, which obligates the state to promote Islamic studies, Quranic education, and the teaching of Arabic language, emphasizing that Arabic is not only revered but considered a sacred language by Muslims worldwide.

 

Dr. Taher ul Islam Askari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Islamic Thought at Allama Iqbal Open University, also praised Dr. Samiullah Zubairi for his dedication to Arabic language promotion. He noted that Dr. Zubairi’s contributions extend beyond advocacy, as he has made significant efforts to enhance Arabic language education at the university.
