Shehroze Kashif of Pakistan has been recognised by Guinness World Records for the year 2023 for climbing Mount Everest and K2 at just 19 years old.
Shehroze, now 20 years old and also known as Broad Boy, was the youngest person ever to reach the top of both the 8,849-meter-high Mount Everest and the 8,611-meter-tall Killer Mountain K2 in 2017.
“Alhumdulilah! I am listed in the Guinness World Records 2023 edition! Everest and K2 were climbed by me when I was the youngest person in the world, and this accomplishment has been recognised “To share the information, the young mountaineer said on Twitter.
He also expressed gratitude to his family, supporters, the Karakoram Club, Guinness World Records, and himself for the accomplishment.
Shehroze was previously recognised in 2021, therefore this is not the first time he has been listed in the Guinness World Records.
Shehroze also accomplished a record-breaking feat by climbing the 11th-tallest mountain in the world, Gasherbrum-1, in August of this year, making him the youngest person ever to have done so.
Before climbing Nanga Parbat earlier this year, Shehroze had summited Nepal’s Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu in less than a month.
He and his partner Fazal Ali encountered difficult conditions while descending from Nanga Parbat this year, and at one point they lost communication. Despite this, both displayed steely grit by making it through the night on the mountain and continuing on their own to Camp 1.
