Six members of Pakistan squad test positive for COVID-19

Karachi: Six members of the national squad have tested positive for COVID-19, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced.

All six players are currently in managed isolation. Two of these six results have been deemed ‘historical’ while four have been confirmed as new. The team will not be able to train until investigations are completed.

As per the protocols of the country, the squad will be moved to the quarantine arm of the managed isolation facility.

It is also revealed that some members of the Pakistan team had breached protocols on the first day of managed isolation.

Meanwhile, a New Zealand Ministry of Health said these breaches of protocol had been caught on CCTV and the squad has been issued a ‘final warning’. NZC will be having discussions with the tourists to assist them in understanding the requirements.

It must be noted that the Pakistan team arrived in Christchurch on November 24. The touring squad returned negative results on the four occasions they were tested.
