Muzaffarabad: Speaker of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar highlighted the importance of preserving national dignity and safeguarding the rights of the people in underdeveloped regions. Speaking at a series of meetings with members of the assembly and media interactions at the Assembly Secretariat.
Latif Akbar underscored that promoting health, education, and employment align with the core principles of the Pakistan People’s Party manifesto.
He emphasized the need for mutual consultation and building trust through collaborative efforts to address electoral challenges, ensuring a fair and transparent democratic process. Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, the Prime Minister of the coalition government, was praised for his continuous efforts to implement reforms and enhance governance in a more effective manner.
During discussions with members of the assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar stated that the People’s Party places the well-being of the people at the forefront by ensuring equal distribution of funds among allied parties in all constituencies. He expressed his commitment to strengthening the political and administrative leadership of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq to facilitate the smooth completion of national and state affairs.
Referring to the grand assembly in Quetta, Chaudhry Latif Akbar commended Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the party, and former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari for representing the Kashmiri people and upholding the legacy of the martyred leader, Benazir Bhutto. He acknowledged the enthusiasm among political opponents, recognizing that the People’s Party consistently values the respect and honor of its loyal supporters.
Addressing concerns about upcoming elections on February 8, Chaudhry Latif Akbar predicted surprising outcomes in all four provinces with People’s Party candidates, emphasizing that the public will not accept cosmetic measures. He stressed the need for impartial, transparent, and unbiased elections, stating that the Election Commission of Pakistan plays a crucial role in ensuring the electoral process meets the nation’s preferences.
Chaudhry Latif Akbar urged all political parties to support a fair and uninterrupted election campaign, asserting that the commission’s responsibility is vital for safeguarding national interests. He concluded by stating that, despite political differences, Pakistan’s betterment requires collective attention and efforts, as internal and external conspiracies must be thwarted through unity and vigilance.
