Hundreds of investors gathered in Canal View, decided to protest in Star property expo

Peshawar: The real estate marketing company “Star Marketing Private Limited” which accumulated money from about 300 local investors by commitment of plots allotment in an illegal housing scheme, Canal View, near Nasir Bagh road, Peshawar. The marketing firm had told few months ago that all the payments of investors had onward been transferred to the land owners, who according to the marketing company were responsible to handover plots to the prospected clients. On the other hand the land owner, Senator Fida Hussain when was contacted regarding the matter has told to Country News that all payments of token money or full payment if any have received by Star Marketing from clients but has never been paid even a single penny to him or his partners, which resulted that the owners have suggested the marketing firm to clear dues of its clients rather than allotting any plot in the Canal View project, he confirmed. Senator Fida Hussain told that they had opened a joint account for deposition of payments from investors, but Star Marketing unfairly grabbed the whole payments of clients rather than paying to the land owners and now they should face the music, he added.
Fida Hussain also added that the cabinet law of interim government regarding housing schemes bounds them to specify 60 percent land for green built while all other facilities like schools, mosques, playgrounds, park and hospitals etc in the remaining ratio of land is not affordable in this rate to deliver as 15 percent property remains for residential purpose, he said.
Meanwhile the investors of Canal View housing society gathered in the project area consisting on hundreds of effected clients, asked the Star Marketing representatives that the company has been utilizing their money in its business for the last few years. On the occasion besides representatives of Star Marketing, the owners of City Builders Dr. Adan, Fida and Arif Wazir, were also present, who pleaded that some parts of the existing land were controversial that’s why the work on the site could not be started yet. On which the effectees asked that if the land had not been purchased or cleared than should not have been inaugurated for sale that hanged their billions amount. The effected clients of Star Marketing told to Country News that the builders and the marketing firm have planned to dodge them and either to increase the rates of plots or to return their money after few years and sale the land to someone else on high rate. They asked that when they had invested for plots as the currency value has been changed now to a great extent and will never accept monitory return on the same rate except land. The clients warned that in the entrance of upcoming property expo of Star Marketing at Sheraz Arena, they will stage a protest until the marketing firm has not included the Canal View housing society in its expo products and owned the project. The effected investors furthered that if Star Marketing does not start work on the society they will intensify their strikes.
