A circular program for students of different universities of Islamabad was arranged here in Islamabad on Sunday. Senior Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone was the chief guest at the occasion.
While speaking to the students Abdul Hameed Lone said that nowadays different countries are using fifth generation warfare against their opposing countries. He said that youth should be ready to fight this war back as the enemy is targeting our minds through hybrid generation warfare. Enemy is always trying to create chaos among us. And we should be ourselves ready to face any threat to our nation.
Looking at the country’s situation, it will not be wrong to say that at this time, Pakistan is once again in the grip of the fifth generation war. Today, the world has become a global village.
The method of war has changed. The target of the enemy is no longer the army of a country, but the people directly, whose goals are achieved by controlling their ability to think and understand. In the Fifth Generation War, the real facts were completely distorted, differences were exaggerated, lies and truth were mixed and poured into people’s minds, he further said.
Abdul Hameed Lone said that in the Fifth Generation War, the enemy uses soft powers such as lobbying, propaganda, proxies, diplomacy, TV, radio, newspaper, social media, film and economy instead of their hard power which includes weapons, ships, tanks and missiles. It is not fought on the ground but in the minds. Fifth generation warfare is actually a war of ideas, culture and information.
The objectives of this war are very dangerous and horrific. Under the effects of fifth generation warfare or hybrid warfare, a citizen is forced to think that the state and state institutions are not worthy of trust, gradually his heart is lifted from his country or let’s say it is lifted. Fifth generation warfare is actually a psychological war through which every legal and illegal tactic is tried to change the minds of the opposing nation. The citizens of this country are incited and used against their state and especially the army as seen in our country for some time and under a specific agenda to attack the people’s thinking to create civil war and chaos within the country. Attempt is being made.
While concluding the session Abdul Hameed Lon said that the youth should not neglect their responsibilities but should play their role to defeat the propaganda of the enemy. The young generation has to come forward to fulfil their responsibilities for the stability of the state. In the age of the internet, we can defeat India sitting in our homes.
