Teach youth to avoid global warming

The contribution of Pakistan in increasing the global warming, is less than one percent, but the country is being affected more of the brunt of the calamities caused by this destruction, the same saying comes true on us, “We have not taken lunch yet we have to pay the hotel bill”

Climate change is taking place swiftly as the temperature of the world is rising every year, and almost every person is affected by it globally.

Pakistan is affected by global warming more due to poor infrastructure, papulation growth and noncompliance of law. In Pakistan, we have cut down trees on large scale, in the name of using woods to cater energy needs by the people, especially in the hilly areas of the country in common and development projects, making new industrial units, and constructing new housing societies by both the public as well as private sectors in peculiar for the increasing papulation.

Water and climate change are deeply interconnected. Climate change is affecting water resources worldwide in complex ways. From unexpected rainfall to melting glaciers, the increase in sea levels, floods, and droughts, most of the impacts of climate change are related to water.

Climate change is causing a shortage of water and increasing water-related hazards, as rising temperatures and untimely and intense rainfall patterns are affecting the entire water cycle.

A healthy aquatic ecosystem and better water management that can protect it from external water and air sources. Wetlands, mangroves, and swamps have the capacity to absorb carbon, which helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Early warning systems invested in protecting against storms can reduce damage by more than 30 percent. A well-functioning water supply and sanitation system that can cope with climate change can save the lives of approximately 360,000 to 400,000 children every year, according to estimates.

An estimate suggests that a better water supply and sanitation system, which can cope with climate change, can save the lives of 3.6 to 4 million children every year.

Environmentally conscious agricultural systems can help in the more efficient use of water, reducing the demand for fresh water. Furthermore, building dams, which are the best means of preserving water resources for any country, can help secure and utilize water resources according to its needs.

On the other hand, no sincere efforts were ever made in the history of the country to plant the new saplings and trees, rather the tree plantation campaign every year proved either nothing more than a lip service or photo session. The country failed to impart training to its youth about the importance of trees in the educational institutions.

As in the schools, colleges and even in universities , the young generation is almost ignorant about global warming and climate change , now it is the moral obligation of the parents to discuss climate change with their children. Although you cannot solve the problems caused by climate change for your children, you can help them understand the facts. The experts are silent to answer the questions regarding climate change.

Make an effort to guide your children to the solution to this problem. Discuss what steps you can take as a family, such as not wasting things at home, minimizing pollution, disposing of waste in dustbins, and emptying dustbins into municipal vehicles.
